By Holly Masters A greenhouse has the potential to provide many benefits for the average flower-lover. However, if they are not built in the appropriate location the results can be detrimental. That said, before you build a greenhouse, it is important to consider all aspects in order to ensure you receive the best results possible. If you are thinking of building a greenhouse, but are unsure of factors which can affect the outcome, read the information below which will inform you on everything you need to know before you start building. Consider the following factors when determining where you are going to build your greenhouse: 1. Light Everyone knows that plants need light to grow and sunlight is even more crucial for greenhouses because there are so many different types of plants and flowers requiring light. You do not want to build your greenhouse in an area which receives no sunlight at all however you do not want to build it in an area which receives too much sun either. Not enough can be harmful to the plants and flowers, yet so can too much sun. You will want to build your greenhouse in an area which receives a minimum of 6 full hours of sunlight a day. You may also want to consider planting a tree on either side of your lighthouse which will provide some shade through the day. Overhanging trees are not a good idea and may put your greenhouse in danger due to falling branches. 2. Convenience You will want to build your greenhouse in a convenient area which can be easily accessed, but is not in an area which may be targeted by high winds. You dont want to have to walk a mile just to get to your greenhouse because chances are you wont maintain it as well this way. Other things to consider when building your greenhouse are access to electricity and water. These are important in the successful functioning of your greenhouse. 3. Setting The actual setting of your greenhouse will greatly affect its overall performance. Many areas throughout the world receive high levels of rain during certain times of the year. This can be detrimental to operation of your greenhouse since too much rain can cause flooding inside. The best way to ensure this doesnt happen is by building your greenhouse in a high level area that is a great deal higher than most of the other property. Choosing the location of your greenhouse is the most important factor you will need to consider. Take your time and research all your options before you start building. A greenhouse is a large investment and you want to make sure the money you spend now will be worth it in the future. Holly Masters loves to garden and takes pride in her greenhouse. She has spent much time learning proper hydroponics and serves as a contributing writer for http://www.greenhousesandgazebos.com a site that offers information about everything from storage sheds to gazebos. When to Hire a Pro
By Brandt Stohr If youre just beginning your small business marketing, the choice between paying to hire a professional to do your small business marketing is a hard one. You probably feel compelled to do everything yourself. Not only will that save you from paying someone elses fees, but youll also have more control. But to be successful in your small business marketing you have to be forward thinking. Doing your own small business marketing today may hurt you in the long run, even if hiring a professional today seems like a financial stretch. Heres why: 1. Doing your small business marketing yourself from your taxes to your graphic design may seem like its saving you money, but it may not be. Think about what you would be doing if you werent trying to figure out TurboTax or Microsoft Publisher. Would the alternative bring you in more money in the long run? If so, then by all means, hire a professional. 2. Think about your impression of other small business marketing materials. Youve probably seen your share of cookie-cutter websites, logos that were constructed in Paint, business cards that were printed out and cut at home. What did you think of those businesses? The adage may be that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover, but the fact is that we do. Your prospective customers will judge you by your small business marketing materials. So if you dont have the expertise to make your small business marketing materials professional, by all means hire someone who does. 3. Even if you do have the talent to create professional-looking small business marketing materials, trying to create your website on your own can be risky business. Unfortunately, the world of html, java script, and flash is a complicated one thats most often best navigated by professionals with experience (and computer science degrees!). Website creation packages like Publisher, DreamWeaver, and FrontPage may advertise that theyre easy to use, but unless youre very tech savvy, you may end up creating more problems (like a website thats not search engine friendly the small business marketers worst nightmare!) than solutions. Fortunately, in todays global world, you dont have to limit yourself to your own town or even country to find a professional to help you with your small business marketing. And while you may not want to hire a tax professional in India to prepare your taxes, there are a lot of service providers in other countries willing and able to do high-quality small business marketing work at a fraction of what youd pay a U.S. provider. That said, doing your own small business marketing yourself (some of it at least) is not always a bad idea. Creating your own contact lists, for example, is one small business marketing activity you can easily tackle on your own saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars over buying the list from a firm. Fortunately, the Internet offers a wide variety of good advice for do-it-yourself small business marketing Brandt Stohr, The Small Business Marketing Genius has brought startup one man operations to billion dollar corporations by using creative marketing techniques rather then investors and capital. Brandt Stohr has been helped hundreds of entrepreneurs to get their small businesses exploding with sales without the use of expensive traditional marketing techniques. 3 Ways To Succeed On Your First Job (Or Any Job)
By Kevin Donlin You've heard the real estate clich: the three factors that determine a property's value are location, location, location. Well, here's an instant clich about creating value on the job: to succeed, you need to work, work, work. But there's more to success than 80-hour workweeks. You have to do the right things in the right amount to get ahead, according to employment expert Ramon Greenwood. He's a former Senior Vice President at American Express and author of the book, "How to Land Your First Job and Make a Success of It." He operates CommonSenseAtWork.com. Greenwood's insights, while especially relevant for new graduates entering the workforce, will help anyone of any age who has to earn a paycheck. Here are three of his most valuable tips for success on the job. 1) Work hard at the right things. "First, understand what it is you're doing and why you're doing it, so you can figure out how to do it better," says Greenwood. In other words, make sure you know why you're on the payroll. What exactly are you getting paid to do? Make money? Save money? Both? Ask your boss to spell out which job duties will determine your success. Then focus on doing those critical few things well. Once you know what to do, a great way to get more of it done is to arrive early and stay late. "Get to work 30 minutes before the starting time. You can get routine chores out of the way and organize your day's work before the interruptions start. Often you will find your boss is in early, too, so this is a great time to get better acquainted with him or her. At the end of the day, stay at least 15 to 30 minutes after hours. Clean up your work place and make a list of actions to take the next day," advises Greenwood. This one thing -- starting 30 minutes early and staying 30 minutes late -- will give you an extra 20 hours of productivity every month. That's equal to six full working weeks every year. Now, do you think you might get noticed by the boss if you worked six weeks more than everyone else? 2) Seek out responsibility. Most people instinctively run from responsibility, like cats from a hose. Call it human nature. But this opens the door for anyone willing to take on new, more challenging tasks. "When it comes to responsibility, you can dodge it, accept it when you have no other choice, or seek it out and take it on," says Greenwood. Prove this for yourself. Look around your office. You'll find the most successful people at work are those who seek out new responsibilities. (If not, you're likely at a company where the top employees all refer to the boss as "Mom" or "Dad.") From my own 20+ years of experience, I can verify that anyone who volunteers for the tasks and responsibilities that nobody else wants will make himself indispensable. You can literally become "fireproof" this way and create real job security for yourself. 3) Don't be afraid to ask for help. We all know men hate to ask for directions. (That's why man put GPS navigation systems in cars.) But work is different. Man or woman, you'll never become an all-star employee if you never seek assistance. "It takes courage to ask for help, but you'll be better off when you do and ultimately, you'll be better respected," says Greenwood. After all, you can't be expected to know everything. Asking for help is a sign of strength. It shows to others that you are confident and focused on producing results. So, find a mentor who will take you under their wing and share their experience. Good news: this is easy to do, since roughly 100% of folks are flattered and willing to help when asked for advice. Just be sure not to abuse the privilege and dump every minor problem in your mentor's lap. These real-world tips from a former executive won't guarantee you a promotion in 30 days. But they will increase your odds for success on your current job and throughout your career. Best of luck to you! Kevin Donlin is President of Guaranteed Resumes. Since 1996, he and his team have provided resumes, cover letters and online job-search assistance to clients in all 50 states and 23 countries. Kevin has been interviewed by USA Today, CBS MarketWatch, The Wall Street Journal's National Business Employment Weekly, CBS Radio, and many others. BBQ Cooking Schools
By Kevin Stith When people go on a vacation, the most enjoyable experiences are the travel and tasting of the new cuisine. A visit to a cooking school allows people to learn local cuisine preparations from reputed chefs. In most cases, these classes are conducted in English or the authorities provide the services of translators. BBQ or barbecue cooking school tours, offer classes that teach participants the nuances and skills needed to barbecue and serve meat and vegetables decoratively. Barbecues are an important part of many social outdoor gatherings. They are a bonding activity, since the preparation method is relatively simple and fun, when done collectively. Barbecues require regular inspection, to make sure the meats will be cooked well on them. Though it sounds simple, carelessness can cause the food to be charred or burned. BBQ cooking school lessons teach people how to clean the meat and most importantly how to marinate it. Reputed chefs impart detailed information regarding barbecue techniques, marinades and marinating time specifications. These classes are offered by established restaurants, hotels and even by local professionals. These tours are available for locals and tourists. When vacationers decide to participate in such tours, they could contact travel operators or the hotel itself. It is important to make reservations and prompt payments, to avoid any untoward situation, on arrival. Locals can opt for BBQ cooking school lessons over the weekend afternoons or during their spare time. Since these lessons are pre-paid for, the organizers provide the raw materials, detailed information, catalogs and expert guidance. Such classes do not accept too many participants at a single session, in order to ensure that each participant gets adequate attention and guidance. Cooking Schools provides detailed information on Cooking Schools, French Cooking Schools, Italian Cooking Schools, Vegan Cooking Schools and more. Cooking Schools is affiliated with Top Film Schools. 5 Proven Tips To Build An Email List That Gets Results!
By Jeremy Harrison In order to get the results you want from email advertising, you need to have a list of people who have opted in to receive your promotions. Here are five tips to quickly build a large email list, which will be the core of your email advertising efforts:
DO Tap into your existing customer base. This is the most important group for you to include. They already know about your company, and are likely to come back again if you give them a good reason. They are also likely to easily to give their email addresses as a loyal customer. You can build this email list by collecting email addresses from your customers when they come and purchase your product or service. If they need a little encouragement, try a monthly drawing for a free gift if they drop their name and email addresses in a drawing. Or, simply tell them about the exclusive benefits of being on the email list, such as the monthly specials. DO Use coupons and other irresistible offers on your website. When people arrive at your website, they shouldnt want to leave without joining your email list. You can make this happen by offering coupons or other valuable incentive to people who visit your website. We can help build irresistible signup pages that will maximize the number of people who sign up for your email list. DO Buy a mailing list and send a traditional postcard. There are list brokers out there who sell lists of prospects for you to do mailings. You should never buy a list of email addresses, because that is spamming, even if the list broker tells you otherwise. However, you CAN buy a mailing list and send a postcard or letter inviting them to visit your website. Then, by offering an incentive, you can get more people to signup for your email list. DO NOT abuse your email list. The key to growing your list for email advertising is to keep your subscribers happy. Otherwise, you will lose subscribers as quickly as you gain them. You must clearly tell people what theyll get with their subscription, and then keep your word. If you tell them youll send a weekly update with coupons, be sure you dont send updates daily. The best bet is to write a privacy policy that tells your customer exactly how you will use and how you wont use their information and email addresses, and then include that privacy policy wherever you invite people to sign up for your email list. DO NOT buy or sell email lists. If youre looking for a quick way to lose your credibility, start sending unsolicited e-mail. Even if a list broker has email lists for sale (as some do) never buy or rent them. Theres nothing wrong with buying a mailing list for postal mail. However, if you send unsolicited e-mail you will quickly get the reputation as a spammer. Do not sell your email list to others either. The Emergence of the Smartphone
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Swensen]Daniel Swensen Since their explosion in popularity, cell phones have become increasingly more feature-rich and sophisticated, with enough features to supplement, or even replace, other devices such as media players, digital cameras, and PDAs. On the leading edge of this technological advancement in the smartphone, a device that blurs the line between a cell phone and a PDA. Smartphone: Changing Definitions By definition, a smartphone is a mobile phone that incorporates a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). A PDA is a miniature, hand-held device that replicates key features of a personal computer, most notably document viewing, task and contact management, and Internet access. A smartphone, while possibly sharing many of these features, is still primarily a voice-centric device, while a PDA is, by nature, data-centric. Rather than one device replacing the other, PDAs and smartphones have often developed in tandem, with PDAs taking on more voice-centric aspects, and smartphones including features previously limited to PDAs. Most contemporary smartphones include Internet and e-mail access, scheduling or PIM software, contact management, and the ability to read (and sometimes compose) document formats such as Word, Excel and PDF. Many smartphones also feature built-in cameras, music players, and GPS navigation software, making them an excellent all-in-one replacement for a variety of other devices. As cell phone technology continues to develop, many features previously isolated to smartphones become common in mid-range cell phones. As such, the definition of what precisely constitutes a smartphone is constantly evolving. Pricing and services for various smartphones will, of course, vary by carrier. If you have a [http://www.wirefly.com/plans/verizon-wireless/]Verizon smartphone, for example, the Blackberry Voice & Data Core Choice Bundle from Verizon Wireless offers 450 minutes of voice time, with unlimited nights and weekends and virtually unlimited Internet data usage (Web browsing, email, and instant messaging) for $79.99 a month. On the other hand, Cingular's Good Mobile Messaging Smartphone Connect service, which is offered separately from its basic voice services, offers unlimited data usage within its coverage area for $34.99 a month. Add this to Cingular's 450-minute basic voice package ($39.99 a month) and it comes out to a very competitive $75 a month from Cingular. The Most Popular Smartphones While not quite as diverse as standard cell phones, [http://www.wirefly.com/catalog/wireless/blackberry/cell-phones/]smartphones are available in a wide array of styles and capabilities. In terms of culture and mind-share, the Blackberry is probably the most popular and easily recognizable smartphone currently on the market. The Blackberry 8800, for example, features nearly everything customers have come to expect in a smartphone: a full QWERTY keyboard, Internet and email access, document viewing, an integrated music and media player, and built-in GPS capability. (For users who need a digital camera, the Blackberry Pearl or the new Blackberry Curve are excellent choices.) On the other hand, if you're looking for something a bit less utilitarian than the Blackberry, the Palm Treo is slim and sporty (available in a distinctive crimson red), featuring a digital camera with video capture, an MP3 player, and Bluetooth.
Like many smartphones, the Treo eliminates the need to carry around a multitude of other devices. For the user who's really passionate about multimedia, Cingular's ultra-slim Blackjack is one of the most video-intensive smartphones available, featuring a rich media player and Cingular Video. The Blackjack's Cingular Music Service supports several online music stores, as well as XM satellite radio, making it an ideal choice for the user who wants a smartphone and a powerful media player in one convenient package. As with all emergent technology, new products are constantly pushing the boundaries. Apple's iPhone promises to raise the bar even further, not only featuring a camera, multimedia player, text messaging, Web browsing, and wireless connectivity, but a touchscreen interface and virtual keyboard that promises to bring a new level of functionality to users, with Apple's distinctive sense of style and design. A Smart Choice for You? While many cell phone users will be more than happy with the features of an average cell phone, smartphones have a lot to offer people who want or need Internet access, email, and multimedia while away from the home or office. While the price tag on a smartphone is often significantly higher than a mid-range cell phone, a smartphone can be a highly economical choice when compared to the cost of all the devices it can effectively replace. For the frequent business traveler or someone who's just on the move a lot, a smartphone can be a marvelous all-in-one solution. Lose Stomach Fat Fast - Forget the Exercise Fads and Workout Gimmicks
By Tom Gifford Have you tried all the fads and gimmicks hoping that it would help you to lose stomach fat fast? If so, it is time that you learned how to lose stomach fat without the frustration, slow results, and empty promises. Everytime you see an ad that promises to help you lose stomach fat fast, it always has some outrageous claim such as "Lose 35 lbs in 2 weeks". Or, you see how some diet pill magically helps you lose fat fast without diet or exercising. This article will show you the main facts that you need to understand if you want to successfully lose stomach fat fast. Don't listen to the advertisements that make empty promises anymore. It is time you learned some things that the infomercials don't want you to know.
1. You should not lose more than 1-3 lbs of fat per week. Did you notice how I used the term "fat" and not "weight"? This is by no accident. If you are dropping a lot of weight too quickly, there is a good chance you are losing water weight, muscle mass, and if you are lucky, maybe a little bit of fat. Water weight can come back on in no time. Trying to regain muscle mass can be a little tougher. Therefore, you don't want to lose weight when you are trying to lose fat. Losing fat is what you want to do. This involves eating and exercising in very specific way! You can eat "good" and go to the gym 5 times a week and not lose any fat at all. Why is this? It is because you need to diet and exercise very specifically in order for fat loss to be the result. More on that in a second. So when trying to lose stomach fat fast, you should not lose more than 1-3 lbs of fat per week. 2. Strength training is your friend, not your enemy. Thats right. Strength training can be your best friend when trying to lose fat. It is important for you to understand the role of muscle mass in fat loss. Muscle uses stored body fat for energy just like car use gasoline. You cannot "convert" fat to muscle or vice versa. The more muscle mass you have, the better your chances are of reducing stomach fat. Muscle raises your metabolism and makes you burn more calories while exercising and at rest. When strength training, don't make the mistake of doing the common "3 sets of 10" on a strength machine with a minute of rest between each set. It is a better idea to follow more of a "circuit training" structure. Here is an example: Warm up: 5-10 minutes 1. Inverted Pushups - 10 reps 2. Seated row - 10 reps per arm 3. DB squats - 12 reps 4. Leg curls on stability ball - 10 to 12 reps 5. Planks - 5-15 seconds per side 6. Hyperextensions - 12 reps 7. Seated DB overhead press - 10 reps 8. Ab crunches on stability ball - 10 to 15 reps When you are circuit training, you are working very hard with minimal rest in between. This is what a strength training routine should resemble for someone trying to lose stomach fat fast. 3. Stop doing "same speed" cardio. While trying to lose stomach fat fast, I am sure that you have gone to the gym and tried to go 30-60 minutes on a cardio machine at the same speed. I am going to tell you why this can actually hurt your fat loss efforts. When going at the same speed the whole time, you are not challenging your body to adapt. After a few weeks, your body is used to the same speed "fat loss" routine. Then, you have to go longer and harder to get the same workout as when you started! Also, "same speed" cardio does nothing to increase your metabolism. This type of cardio does can actually cause you to lose muscle mass. Remember, muscle burns calories. Therefore you are making your body less efficient at burning calories while at exercise and at rest! Here is a better solution, and it is called interval training. With this type of cardio, we are alternating between high and low intensities. First 5 minutes: warm-up 2 minutes: slow 30 sec - 1 minute: fast (almost as hard as you can) -Repeat the "2 minute slow 1 minute fast" 3-6 times. Last 5 minutes: cool-down By doing this type of routine, you are making your fat loss workout time shorter and more effective. Twenty to thirty minutes sounds a lot more doable than 45 or 60. With the higher intensities, you are also increasing your metabolism! Be sure to keep your heart rate in mind. Because you are working very hard, you should check with a doctor and make sure this is a safe way for you to exercise to lose stomach fat fast.. So in this article I wanted to show you how losing fat fast is a possibility, as long as you are doing the right things with exercise and diet. Remember to stay positive, have fun, and remember that persistence is the key to success! Want to Reprint this Article? How To Select Annual Flowers
By Bowe Packer Flowers are one of nature's heralds of the seasons. The various flowers that blossom in the different seasons can inform us what season we are in. For instance flowers like the Poinsettia are known to bloom only during the wintertime season, more specifically during December. Annual flowers on the other hand are wonderful flowers to plant in your gardens. I know most of us have passed by a nice arrangement of outside florals and wondered - how might I do the same. Well, first we must start by understanding the different types of annual flowers and the which flower will survive in which climate. You will find that many of these flowers are excellent choices for the garden as they can be grown in the different seasons. The best way to select the type of annual flowers that you want is to decide which flower varieties you want to see. You should buy the annual flowers that are appropriate for the required season otherwise your flower plant will rot even before you have a chance to plant it. When you start selecting your annual flowers you can purchase stalwart annuals, half hardy annuals and tender annuals. These differences reflect the type of weather and soil conditions that these annual flowers will grow in. Remember, the selecting process maybe some what challenging at first. However, don't let that intimidate you, make a selection based on the season and what looks good to you. With experience you will start to understand the other elements, like soil, sun and water, that also have an effect on your annual flowers. Sturdy annuals are beautiful plants that will produce flowers even in the cold wintertime season. These annual flowers are planted during the spring season or fall season when the weather condition is not that cold. Unlike other annuals these hardy annual flowers don't like hot weather as they are not heat tolerant. The types of stalwart annual flowers that you can buy include calendula, foxglove, viola, sweet alyssum, stocks, cornflowers, pansy, larkspur and the many varieties of dianthus cultivars. The half sturdy annual flowers include torenia, snow-on-the-mountain, blue sage, strawflower, baby's breath, candytuft, bells of Ireland, celoma, love-in-a-mist, and forget-me-nots. These half hardy annuals don't mind damp cold weather but they can't live during the cold fierce months of winter. You will need to plant these annual flowers after the last spring frost. Unlike tender annuals these half sturdy annuals have no need of warm soil conditions for the seeds to begin sprouting. While some flower species can't bear lots of hot summertime weather the half hardy annuals may sometimes wilt for the weather but they will perk up in the later summer months. You can select some tender annuals like scarlet sage, morning glory, petunias, begonias, celosia, balsam, nasturtium, and verbena. These annuals as their name suggests are not well-off in the cold wintertime months so the idealistic time to grow them is three weeks after the last spring frost. Since these annual flowers grow well in warm climates you can expect to see them in all of their glory in the late spring and the warm months of summer. These are just a few of the many annual flowers that you can grow in your garden, and the riot of colors that they bring will utterly make any garden look great. You will also have the added benefit of flowers that grow in different seasons adding a break up of color right through the year. Bowe is the information provider for over 40 websites. Build Your Marketing Muscles
By Debbie LaChusa You know you've got muscles in your body. But did you know you also have marketing muscles? So just what are marketing muscles? They're the skills or ways you excel when it comes to marketing your business. What are you good at?
You may not have a lot of strengths when it comes to marketing your business, or you may still have a lot to learn, but I guarantee you have at least one strength ... one thing you're good at, either naturally, or because you have a lot of experience or training in it. Assess your skills to find your marketing muscles
Perhaps you're a naturally outgoing person. You love meeting and talking to new people. If that sounds like you, then your marketing muscle is likely networking. Maybe you fight hard for the things you believe strongly in. You're a natural debater. You like convincing people that your way is the best way or perhaps that they should give your point of view consideration. If this sounds like you, your marketing muscle is likely sales. Can you guess what my marketing muscles is?
I love to write. Always have ... always will. I always did well in English and I studied Journalism in college. So, my marketing muscle is written communications. Things like this ezine, and article marketing. Even though I have a few marketing muscles, I consider writing my strongest marketing muscle. Yes, I started with some natural ability ... plus my dad was a teacher so I got plenty of lessons from him growing up - in fact, when he reads my website or this Ezine, he still corrects my writing! I've been building it for 20+ years
In addition to this, I've also spent the better part of the past 20 years honing my writing skills. Working my writing muscle, if you will. The result is the same as the result you get when you go to the gym and work the muscles in your body. You get stronger. And your body is better equipped to serve your needs. Strengths = Success
I believe that to be successful marketing your own business, you need to start with your strengths. Start using those strengths to market your business. Do what you do best
I've used writing and posting articles, this Ezine, and now my blog as primary marketing tools for 10stepmarketing. All of these activities utilize my strength in writing. Then, hire or barter with others to do what you don't like doing or aren't very good at. And build the rest of your marketing muscles
At the same time, keep working all your marketing muscles to make them stronger. Take classes. Read books. Consult experts. Do whatever it takes to improve your skills in all the areas necessary to market your business. Because strong marketing muscles equal a strong, successful business. Happy Mother's Day, Beloved Sons and Daughters!
By Patricia Nordman My precious children! How can I put into words the joy that is in my heart this Mother's Day? I must confess that so many times I have knelt in the dark of yet another day's end, begging God's forgiveness for my failures with you: my abruptness, harsh words, the ears that hear but tune out your silent pleas for understanding, the eyes that don't see the hurts of your little hearts, the omissions of simple pleasures and commissions of parental sins. I beg your forgiveness! I want to give you something this Mother's Day: a will of hope and a testament of God's love and mine. I want to pass on to you a sustaining faith that will support you through your lives. My dear ones, I won't always be with you on the earth. You will go through crucibles of sorrows and trials. Don't allow them to defeat you! Some are tried in the furnace of affliction. Perhaps God will choose to refine you in this way because He wants to see His image restored in you. No matter what happens to you, praise, love, and thank your Saviour always. He has promised His strength to those who wait on Him. Man may fail, you may fail at times, but your loving Father will never fail you. I haven't always given you what you wanted--perhaps not even what you needed. I pray God will be the Sufficiency for my lacks, the Gentleness for my impatience, the Compassion for my misunderstandings, the Calm for my restlessness. Dear ones, I want for you what God wants for you. He wants you to be His heroes, armed with faith, purity, and humility in a disbelieving, pleasure-seeking, vain world that has no time nor love for its gracious Creator. How sad! You have come into the world for such a time as this because God wants you to reflect His care and love to those who will cross your path of life. Fame and riches mean nothing. I beg you not to seek them! It may be that God will put you forward, but it will only be because He has a great work for you. But if He gives much He will expect much in return. Don't disappoint your beautiful Saviour! I thank you, dear precious gifts, for giving my life an eternal dimension--for giving me something to live, work, and strive for. You have inspired me and I love you deeply. Happy Mother's Day! Estimating the Cost of a San Antonio Moving Company
By Ted Garvin Are you interested in relocating this year? If so, there is a good chance that you may want to move to the San Antonio area. San Antonio is not only a good place to live, but it is also a great place to work or even raise a family. If, after much consideration, you have decided that San Antonio is where you would like to move, you will then need to think about moving your belongings. Depending on how much stuff you have and the overall move distance, you may find that moving is quite expensive. If you are interested in determining how expensive your move will be, you will have to do a little bit of estimating. Exact estimates are often difficult to obtain, especially if you are moving yourself. This is because, in addition to actually moving your own stuff, you will also need to figure in broken items and unexpected trips. However, if you are planning on using the services of a San Antonio moving company, it should be a little bit easier for you to obtain an estimated moving cost. The first that you will need to do, when estimating the costs associated with using a San Antonio moving company, is find a moving company that you would be interested in doing business with. If you have more than one San Antonio moving company in mind, that is fine. You will want to contact each moving company and ask them for an accurate estimate. To get that estimate, you may be asked a number of important questions. Those questions will likely have a direct impact on the cost of using a professional San Antonio moving company. One of the questions that you will likely be asked should concern where you are moving to and form. This is extremely important because most professional moving companies will base their price estimates on that distance. In most cases, you will find that the longer the moving distance, the most it costs to hire a professional moving company, even a San Antonio one. In addition to cost, where you will be moving to and from is also important because the moving company of your choice may not even be able to service those areas. The number of items you need moved is also important when determining your estimated moving costs. Most San Antonio moving companies will have a number of different moving vans and trucks. These trucks will like come in a wide variety of different sizes. In the event that you need to have a large number of items moved, it is likely that you get a large moving van or truck. If a large moving van or truck is not available, the San Antonio moving company that you are working with may need to make additional trips. Whether a large size moving truck is used or additional trips are taken, the number of items you need moved will likely have a significant impact on the cost of a professional moving company. As previously mentioned, the best way to receive an accurate estimate is to contact a number of different moving companies, especially the San Antonio moving company you would like to do business with. By taking the above mentioned points into consideration, the moving company should not only be able to give you an estimated cost, but an exact one. Ted Garvin is a writer for Froggy Moving.com where you can find the best San Antonio Moving Company around, and other related information. Do Women Care If Men Find Them Attractive When First Meeting
By Teddy Shabba Oh my gosh you are so beautiful! I just had to tell you I really like you! Do you know what women think when they hear these and other similar comments from men? Who the hell cares what you think about me! Is what most if not all women think. Of course she will not tell you this to your face; in fact she might even thank you for the complement. Realize however, in the back of her mind she has already shut you out as a potential suitor; and rightfully so when you think about it from her point of view. In her mind she knows that her looks are only temporary, no matter how beautiful she really is. She also knows that if a man finds her so beautiful that he just has to tell her. He will never ever be able to connect with her emotionally or any other level besides physically. Essentially all you are is a fan of her beauty and since her job does not pay her to be nice to her fans you are worthless to her. Unless, of course you are willing to throw your money away on gifts and other things for her, even then you are only going to be able to attract gold diggers. So what is a man to do when he sees a beautiful woman that he wants? For starters you can try and make a real connection with her, by actively engaging her in conversation. Even though women do not care how much you like them, they do care how you can make them feel. If you cause her to feel good feelings before she can recognize your attraction for her. What this means is when meeting her for the first time a good conversation is only the beginning of building attraction with her and telling her how you feel does nothing to help this. Family Advocacy - Part Two
By Terry Coyier (Continued from Part 1) Be an Advocate for Yourself Think back to the last time you were on an airplane and the flight attendant was going over the safety instructions...when the oxygen mask drops down from above you are to secure yours first and then help your children or others who need assistance. The same applies to your mental illness except that there is no air mask that automatically drops down. You have to create the life saving devices yourself. You can chose between two roads. Both roads are bumpy, filled with hidden sand traps and detours into never ending thick jungles but one trail gives you some control, knowledge and power and the other leaves you whining and blaming everyone and everything for your misfortune. The one you pick will affect everyone around you - especially your children. The following are some ideas to get you on the right path: *Take your medications as prescribed
*Tell you doctor immediately if you have an adverse reaction to a new medication
*Get a weekly pill box to help you remember to take your medications
*Make sure you are aware of any severe side effects that could harm you If your medication requires blood tests - don't miss them
*Don't miss appointments with your psychiatrist
*Educate yourself about your illness
*Read books
*Join support groups
*Ask questions of experts
*Know your early warning signs so you can catch an episode before it gets out of control
*Build a support network
*Get into a routine so you don't feel stressed or forget things
*Pick out your work clothes the night before
*Set aside certain days for specific tasks
*Make a family calendar if your family participates a lot of activities
*Make time for yourself
*Eat healthy
*Try to avoid overly stressful situations or situations that can trigger an episode
*Learn relaxation techniques
*Deep breathing
*Pray - if you are religious
*Take a warm bath (try some aromatherapy)
*Do a hobby that is soothing to you
*Enlist the help of family and friends
*Don't overextend yourself Be an Advocate for Your Child Often we hear people talk about how resilient children are these days. This is true in many ways, but they still need parental guidance and protection. Especially as they grow older, we as parents, tend to think they don't need us anymore when they still do. Each child is different as we have seen and they each react differently to a parent's mental illness. Some children feel ashamed or embarrassed by the stigma associated with their parent's mental illness. Often they cannot invite friends home due to an ill parent or are teased by their peers. This can cause them to withdrawal from their peers and community. It is important as a parent that you educate your child about your illness (a little at a time according to their age). Assure them that your illness is a medical illness like
diabetes and there is no shame in it. Also reinforce over and over that your illness or episodes are not their fault in any way. They may experience anger, anxiety or guilt over your illness. Take them to a counselor, if only for a short time to help them sort through their feelings. Other children may take on an inappropriate amount of responsibility in caring for themselves, siblings, the household or even the sick parent. By doing this, they are prevented from normal social interaction with their peer group and from participating in school activities. Their schoolwork may directly suffer due to lack of time for homework or from being overly tired or worried about the parent while at school. Due to poor social relationships they may turn to drugs or alcohol to help them cope, which compounds the problem. Try to find a family member, friend or someone who could watch your child or children while you are sick. Even if you can get someone to come over and help with household chores takes some of the pressure off of the kids. The presence or availability of a spouse or partner without a mental illness has been shown to improve the outcomes of both the child and the ill parent (Musick, Scott, spencer, Goldman & Cohler, 1987: Puckering, 1989; Tannenbaum & Forehand, 1994; Webster, 1992). There is a bidirectional influence of effects from parent to child and child to parent. Each one's moods and behaviors affects the other's (Goodman & Gotlib, 1999; Hammen, Burge & Adrian, 1991). Having a rational third person around can help keep things on a more level playing field. Here are a few other ideas and examples that you can do to help your child or children deal with your mental illness and reduce the risk of mental or behavior problems for them: 1. Provide as much stability as possible. It is the disruption of the routine family life that causes more disturbances than the illness of the parent. This is a hard one for everyone - I know I fail frequently; just be aware of how important it is for a child. 2. Help your child find a relationship with another supportive adult - an aunt or uncle, neighbor, teacher, church leaders or even their own counselor. 3. Have a plan in place for when you must be hospitalized. Is there a relative who can take the child during that time? Maybe a school friend's family would be willing to let your child stay with them until you are released. You don't know until you ask, and you don't want to wait until you are in a crisis situation. 4. his cannot be emphasized enough - assure your children that your mental illness has nothing to do with them and isn'ttheir fault. Telling them one time isn't enough. 5. Provide them with a safe environment - free from abuse of any kind: emotional, physical or sexual. If you feel that you cannot handle your children have an alternative place for them to stay until the feelings pass. 6. If problems begin to arise at school explain the situation your child's teachers or the school principal. This will allow them to be better equipped to handle any behavioral problems with compassion. This also opens up a two-way line of communication between you and their school. 7. Seek therapy for your child. Often the school system has psychologists they use that can speak with your child that are no cost to you. If they don't, get them therapy through mental health services or through a private psychologist. This will help them handle your illness as well as teasing from other children; it will give them better coping skills and help build their self-esteem. 8. Enhance the communication between you and your children. Keeping those lines open will help them come to you with their questions instead of drawing their own, probably incorrect, conclusions. One thing I think that everyone will agree upon is that our children are our most precious commodity and should be given every opportunity at a happy and fulfilled life. Even parents facing mental challenges can provide their children with the tools and skills needed to succeed. Will it be hard? Sure it will, but it will be more than worth it. Don't give up on yourself or your families. The more we educate our loved ones, the more the stigma will lose it's hold over the populous in general. Book List Children of Parents with Mental Illness

Cell Phone Family Plans Reviewed
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barry_Nagassar]Barry Nagassar It's another season for shopping and buying and wouldn't you know, cell phone companies from both the US and Canada are starting to roll out some new deals. This article will look at the pros and things to watch out for when it comes to signing up for family plans. It would take into consideration things like network coverage or cell phone selection between carriers, but it will give you an idea of the money you will or won't save. You have the special someone, the kids, your significant other? Without a family plan all calls between each other usually count against your total minutes use. That means no free calling between the most popular numbers in your phone. This can change, however, with new family plans. What we see clear across the board (especially in Canada) are the carriers willingness to offer cell phone plans to families. You'll get unlimited calling between people on your plan, sometimes up to 4 different phones. Sounds great doesn't it? No more phone bills that cost crazy amounts, you can save your money! Essentially the idea is perfect, one bill, no fees, no more lost minutes. Basically the ads are true, you are getting unlimited phone calls between the family plan members, however, beware of some of the fine print. For example, remember, you'll be sharing all additional minutes between all of you. Got a talkative kid? You may wind up with no minutes for yourself since everyone shares the anytime minutes. By the way, all you're saving really is the minutes you wasted between each other. You don't save anywhere else on the bill. Each phone is still charged individually: activation fees, system fees, 911 fees, etc etc etc. You should be aware of the different charges for different services when you're moving one person from one carrier to another. Some carriers don't charge for basic voicemail (Telus) but others charge you money (Rogers $5 bucks basic voicemail.) That's an additional 60 bucks a year. Do you want to pay that money that you would not have before? Basically you have to decide whether $60 is worthy cost for money talk time. So how should you make a choice? Really, it's a matter between who will offer the most anytime minutes. Whoever can provide you with the best deal for minutes aside from your family/couple members would be the way to go. Some offer free first incoming minute on all calls. Some exceed others in anytime minutes, some will give you deals on new phones, more minutes, additional features, etc. Be on the prowl and don't jump at the first opportunity. Compare costs and you'll save some additional cash. [http://www.discusswireless.com/]Cell phones and cell phone plans reviewed in the cellular forum at Discusswireless. Higher Education Loans
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Max_Bellamy]Max Bellamy Education loans are loans taken for educations purposes. Educational loans are of many kinds: according to the sponsor (federal or private), according to the beneficiary (undergraduate, continuing education, insurance loans, parent loans, payment loans), according to the course: law school, medical school, dental school, MBA, general graduate, and post graduate. There are also career loans for people who are pursuing graduate or postgraduate education on a part-time to full time basis including evening, weekend, distance learning and continuing education programs. Higher education loans are for graduate and post graduate courses. There are certain eligibility criteria to be met for getting these loans sanctioned. The applicant should be a graduate or professional student in a degree or certificate program and should be enrolled in school at least half-time (or as determined by the school). For credit-worthy applicants, the borrower or the co-signer should have good credit, employment, and residence history of at least 2 years. They should also have proof of income and should be a US citizen or a permanent resident and has resided in the US for the past 2 years. For a credit-ready borrower, the eligibility is US citizenship or a permanent residency (have resided in the US for the past 2 years). Certain credit criteria have to be satisfied. Most of these criteria are similar for continuing education loans as well. The minimum loan amount for higher education loans is $1,000 while the maximum limit is $30,000. The minimum repayment amount is $25. Maximum repayment period is 20 years. There are also deferment options available. These days, getting a higher educational loan has become very easy. There are online applications as well as applications through the telephone. All that is required is the social security number, date of birth, employers name, phone number, years of employment, gross annual income (adjusted gross income for self employed individuals) and monthly rent, or mortgage payment. There are many loan programs to choose from. Repayment options are also sundry including standard repayment, graduate repayment, income-sensitive repayment, consolidation and pre-payment. There are many loan options according to school and state. Information about these can be obtained from your school. There are also several websites that have up-to-date information about higher education loans. These also have easy options and tools such as loan calculators. Loans can be compared and even applied for online. By Alice Yap Weddings are occasions overflowing with emotions from all corners, and there usually isnt a happier day in a year than a beautiful wedding. It takes a lot of time, effort, and planning to pull off a spectacular wedding, and there are all sorts of touches you can use to make it special. Why not try a personalized wedding favor? From custom candles, to fortune cookies, to photo frames, anything you choose will surely add that special flair to your wedding ceremony. Plus, your guests will have a nice memento to take home with them to commemorate the occasion. There are a variety of favors the bride and groom can choose from to really immortalize their special day, and personalized favors can really add a certain something to the occasion. For female guests, couples can choose from favors like custom cosmetic bags, personalized lip balm, tote bags, crystal charm bracelets, and even toiletry bags. For those male guests in attendance, there are personalized poker sets, wine gift sets, custom hot sauce bottles, chocolate bars, mint tins, and specially created cookies. These days, if youre having a theme wedding you may even custom tailor your favors to uniquely fit that theme. Theres really no end to how personal or meaningful you can make the favors be. During the happiest day of your life, guests want to be able to relax and enjoy the love flowing between the happy couple. The bride may want to consider investing in comfy slippers and pajama sets for her wedding party, especially if there will be a reception afterwards or everyone will be staying in a hotel. At the very least, its a nice gesture and will give them a lovely souvenir of your wedding day. You can also choose to personalize the gifts, perhaps getting each set in the favorite color of each woman in your wedding party. This is a very thoughtful move, and will surely pay off for the bride in the long run! Suffice it to say, you wont be constantly referred to as Bridezilla after the wedding has come and gone. For the groomsmen, you may want to consider giving each male member of the wedding party something uniquely personalized and memorable. You may invest in silver pocket watches, or perhaps even engraved leather flasks or monogrammed cuff links. Any special favor like that will be kept long after the wedding has ended, and will surely show your appreciation of their presence on your wedding day. While it may be your special day, it doesnt hurt to show those who are members of your party that they are important to you, and that their presence in your wedding is greatly honored. A personalized wedding favor like this definitely wont go unnoticed by those its given to. Amidst all the flowers, the cake, the jubilant guests and the blushing bride, there is true happiness. Approaching Women
By Dan Powers Ever found yourself wanting to approach a woman to begin an interaction, but you just didn't know how? Major excuses guys have: Excuse # 1: "I don't know what to say..."
Excuse # 2: "She's probably heard all the lines...and beside, I can't think of something original or amazing to sweep her off her feet." Tell me - Do you really think that you need to sweep a woman off her feet with an amazing opening line in order to be successful? No. It is not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it. Your body language, tonality and 'vibe' are the most important things when you are approaching women. Don't want to believe that because it sounds too simple? Then do something for me... STOP for a moment and practice saying the following in at least 4 different ways: "Hi, I noticed you when I walked in...and I just had to find out what you were like...my name's __________" After she gives you her name or says something like "Hi", follow it up with something like, "So what's happening?" Say it: 1. In a nervous way that suggests you're scared of being rejected.
2. With a 'pick up persona' that suggests you're trying to pick her up (e.g. sleazy tonality and body language).
3. With your head slightly tilted to the side, an endearing smile on your face and a bit of a squint in your eyes. For added effect: raise an eyebrow, look her in the eyes and have confident body language. The non-verbal signal you should be aiming to convey here is "I know that you want me...in fact, I'm kind of intrigued myself...let's flirt with each other and see what happens." Note: For an excellent example of this sort of body language, watch the movie 'Goldfinger' with Sean Connery playing James Bond. Freeze frame the expression Connery gives Honor Blackman (a.k.a. 'Pussy Galore' in the movie) when she looks back after being thrown in the hay. (1h 23min and 55sec into the movie). 4. In a calm, composed and self-assured way that suggests you have NO DOUBT she will be attracted to you. You'll often hear a woman say "I like a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to get it." This is partly what she means. So, which of the above is correct? Obviously you'll want to avoid 1 & 2. I'd suggest blending 3 & 4. Now, off you go. Go out and approach some women and begin some interactions! You're still reading.........I guess you want a few more things to say when approaching women. I'm feeling pretty generous at the moment, so I am going to reveal the way that I got this area handled. 1. Grab a pen and paper/open a new file on your PC. Go on - do it! 2. Write headings like: Supermarket, Bookstore, Bar, Club, Take-away store, etc.
3. Under each heading note down the SITUATIONS that you often see women in at these PLACES. For example: In a bookstore, you may see a woman reading a book, flicking through a magazine, in line at the counter, in the romance section, having a coffee, etc.
4. For each of the situations you identify, write down at least 3 different comments you could make to begin an interaction. Think of the situations and places one at a time... Now, can you PICTURE YOURSELF approaching women to begin interactions in those sorts of places? Yes? Good. All the best. Dan (from The Modern Man) The Modern Man is a company that teaches men how to meet, attract and date women.
